Job summary

RK&K is seeking Engineering Interns in Washington, DC area to explore site and land development. You will work on grading, site layout, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, utility design, and sustainability, both in the office and in the field.

This role offers exposure to operations, safety, and design challenges within a premier civil engineering firm. As RK&K has over a century of experience, interns often start their careers here and continue to grow with the team.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Responsibilities

• Assist with grading and site layout tasks.
• Support stormwater management and erosion/sediment control efforts.
• Contribute to utility design and sustainability initiatives.
• Review existing site conditions and assist on-site activities.

Description

This internship is for Engineering Students with an interest in Civil Engineering focused on Site and Land Development . In this role, interns will gain insight into various aspects of site development engineering including grading, site layout, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, utility design, sustainability, and review of existing site conditions. Our College Interns will be exposed to various challenges, projects and technology related to operations, safety, and design, and will complete tasks both in the office and in the field as needed.

Required Skills and Experience

• Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Proficient knowledge ofMicrosoft Office products(Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
• Valid driver’s license

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Participation in professional societies (ASCE, ITE)

Hourly Rate: $17-$26/hr.
