Envoy Air, the largest regional airline and American Airlines subsidiary, is offering a paid 11-week summer internship in Irving, Texas. The program gives you real-world experience in aircraft systems engineering while you build your professional network and learn how your team impacts daily business decisions.

Overview

Ready for takeoff?

We are looking for a college intern who will be passionate to work for Envoy Air, the largest regional airline and wholly owned subsidiary of American Airlines. Envoy operates both Embraer E-170 and E-175 aircraft. The regional airline has expanded its network outside of the U.S. to international destinations in Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean.

Our paid 11-week summer internship will not only enhance your studies, but also provide an educational experience you can’t find in the classroom. As an intern, you will learn real world skills while building a professional network of future peers. You will learn the ins and outs of how your team impacts the business day to day and gain an understanding of the commercial aviation business

Pay rate: $22/hr

Responsibilities

With this internship, the intern will assist the Aircraft Systems Engineer(s) with reviewing manufacture service documents for applicability to determine embodiment requirements based on safety and reliability indicators.

Typical job duties include:

• Researching and developing solutions to engineering problems
• Presenting project status and recommendations to various levels of management
• Working with company maintenance personnel and other departments as required in support of maintenance operations

Qualifications

The ideal candidate must be able to work in a team environment and the ability to prioritize work and projects in order to meet deadlines and objectives. Must be able to work with minimal supervision, report to work regularly and on-time, and be self-motivated.

Position Requirements:

• Minimum age of 18
• Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in: aeronautical/aerospace or mechanical engineering
• Must be classified as a Junior, Senior or graduate student upon start of the internship
• 3.0 minimum Grade Point Average
• Proficiency in MS Office that includes Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
• Ability to present data to all levels of management
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
• Must be willing and able to travel
• Must be able to read, write, fluently speak, and understand the English language
• Possess the legal right to work in the United States
