Job summary

Qualifications

• Collaborate with Planning Director, MOC Manager, and Regional Directors to understand scheduling.
• Travel to select bases to observe operations and validate findings.
• Meet weekly with the VP of Maintenance to review progress and stay on track.
• Present findings and recommendations to Maintenance leadership at internship end.

We are looking for a college intern who will be passionate to work for Envoy Air, the largest regional airline and wholly owned subsidiary of American Airlines. Envoy operates both Embraer E-170 and E-175 aircraft. The regional airline has expanded its network outside of the U.S. to international destinations in Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean.

Our paid 11-week summer internship will not only enhance your studies, but also provide an educational experience you can’t find in the classroom. As an intern, you will learn real world skills while building a professional network of future peers. You will learn the ins and outs of how your team impacts the business day to day and gain an understanding of the commercial aviation business.

Pay Rate: $22/hr

Responsibilities

Typical job duties include:

• Build a Base Performance Scorecard and dashboard for Envoy Maintenance leadership

• Use AI and analytics tools to find gaps between planned and completed work, including Bill of Work (BOW) completion

• Work with the Planning Director, MOC Manager, and Regional Directors to understand how work is planned and carried out

• Travel to select bases to see operations firsthand and validate findings

• Meet weekly with the VP of Maintenance to review progress and stay on track

• Present findings and recommendations to Maintenance leadership at the end of the internship

• Follow all safety and compliance requirements in the maintenance environment

Qualifications

The ideal candidate must be able to work in a team environment and possess the ability to handle & prioritize various projects to meet deadlines and objectives. Must be able to work with minimal supervision, report to work regularly and on-time, and be self-motivated.

Position Requirements:

• Minimum age of 18

• Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in: business, aviation management, data analytics, information systems, engineering or related field

• Must be classified as a Junior, Senior, or Graduate student upon start of internship

• 3.0 minimum Grade Point Average

• Strong organizational and analytical skills; ability to interpret data and identify trends

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook); familiarity with Power BI or similar tools preferred

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present ideas clearly and concisely

• Comfortable working in a maintenance and safety-critical environment and engaging with frontline employees

• Ability to manage time effectively and work independently on structured tasks

• Must be willing and able to travel

• Must be able to read, write, fluently speak, and understand the English language

• Possess the legal right to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency with Microsoft products, especially Excel

• AI experience or coursework

• Strong communication skills and comfort working with leaders

• Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage a project independently

• Interest in aviation and/or maintenance operations
