Job summary

Northwestern Mutual College Financial Representatives internship provides guidance and a framework to build an integrated financial planning practice while you are in school. You will develop client relationships, learn to prospect, and gain access to proprietary planning tools and coaching, with opportunities to interview for full-time roles after graduation.

You’ll participate in weekly coaching and gain exposure to licensing such as Series 6/63 and CFP®, while balancing classes and campus

Qualifications

• Full-time student; juniors or seniors preferred.
• Entrepreneurial ambitions and curiosity for sales.
• Active campus involvement (leader, athlete, campus orgs, student government, etc).
• Excellent time-management skills.
• Interest in financial literacy and planning tools.
• Business savvy and desire to increase critical thinking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Learn how to prospect and network to build your business and client base.
• Develop and execute on a business strategy.
• Call on potential clients and set meetings to understand their financial goals.
• Prepare plans and offer useful recommendations.
• Gain exposure to proprietary planning software platforms.
• Engage in weekly coaching, training, and development meetings.
• Receive Risk Product State Licensing: Life, Accident, and Health.
• Build life skills that create future career opportunities.
