Job summary

Northwestern Mutual College Financial Representatives internship provides guidance and a framework to build an integrated financial planning practice while you study. You will learn prospecting, client meetings, and planning with support from a Fortune 500 company and access to exclusive products.

You can participate year-round, with opportunities to interview for full-time roles after graduation, and you may pursue licenses (Series 6 & 63) and CFP certification through the program.

Qualifications

• Entrepreneurial ambitions and curiosity for sales.
• Highly involved on campus (leader, athlete, campus orgs, student government, etc).
• Excellent time-management skills.
• Interest in financial literacy and planning tools.
• Business savvy and desire to increase critical thinking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Learn how to prospect and network to build your business and client base
• Develop and execute on a business strategy
• Call on potential clients and set meetings to understand their financial goals
• Prepare plans and offer useful recommendations
• Gain exposure to proprietary planning software platforms
• Engage in weekly coaching, training, and development meetings
• Receive Risk Product State Licensing: Life, Accident, and Health
• Build life skills that create future career opportunities
