Northwestern Mutual offers College Financial Representatives an internship that guides you to build a professional financial planning practice while you study. You’ll prospect, develop a business strategy, and meet clients to assess financial goals, using our planning tools and weekly coaching.

Eligible students can pursue licenses such as Series 6/63 and CFP, with ongoing support and national event opportunities.

Qualifications

• Full-time student; juniors and seniors preferred.
• Entrepreneurial ambitions and curiosity for sales.
• Highly involved on campus (leader, athlete, student orgs, etc).
• Excellent time-management skills.
• Interest in financial literacy and planning tools.
• Business savvy and desire to increase critical thinking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Learn prospecting and networking to build your client base.
• Develop and execute a business strategy for growth.
• Call on potential clients and set meetings to understand financial goals.
• Prepare plans and offer useful recommendations.
• Gain exposure to proprietary planning software platforms.
• Engage in weekly coaching, training, and development meetings.
• Receive licensing support for Life, Accident & Health.
• Grow through leadership programs and recognize events.
