Job summary

Northwestern Mutual is seeking a College Financial Representative intern to help build a financial planning practice while balancing class schedules. You’ll learn prospecting, client meetings, and personalized planning with coaching support and access to exclusive products.

As a full-time student, you’ll work with local and nationwide experts, pursuing licensing such as Series 6/63 or CFP, with opportunities for interviews for full-time roles after graduation.

Qualifications

• Full-time student; juniors and seniors preferred.
• Entrepreneurial ambitions and curiosity for sales.
• Highly involved on campus (leader, athlete, campus orgs, student government, etc).
• Excellent time-management skills.
• Interest in financial literacy and planning tools.
• Business savvy and desire to increase critical thinking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Learn prospecting and networking to build your client base.
• Develop and execute a business strategy.
• Call on potential clients and set meetings to understand their goals.
• Prepare plans and offer useful recommendations.
• Gain exposure to planning software platforms.
• Engage in weekly coaching, training, and development meetings.
