Job summary

Masters Academy International in Stow, MA is seeking an experienced College Counselor to lead college counseling for Grades 10–12 and partner with the Director of Student Wellbeing and Deans to design supportive programs. You will guide student-athletes through admissions and athletic recruitment, coordinating with families and colleges to identify best-fit options.

The Opportunity

The College Counselor will collaborate with the Director of Student Wellbeing and the Deans team to design and implement programs that support student well-being and effectively guide students through the college application process. The primary goal of the Deans team is to foster a sense of belonging by creating a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning community. The College Counselor regularly meets with students to provide mentorship and strategic coaching and serves as a conduit among students, families, and MAI colleagues. By being responsive to student needs, this role promotes balance, well-being, and a coordinated network of support.

Reporting to the Director of Student Wellbeing, the College Counselor works in close partnership to align college counseling initiatives with broader student support structures, including Personal Learning Plans and holistic student development frameworks. Along with the Deans team, you will help students realize their postsecondary goals and guide them on the best path toward college admissions and/or career readiness. This role provides resources on college options, financial aid, and scholarship opportunities; assists families and students in filtering and evaluating the best‑fit college choices; and offers guidance as students prepare to transition into their first year of postsecondary education.

What You Will Do

As a College Counselor at Masters Academy International, you will providevision, leadership, and coordination for all college counseling initiatives,ensuring alignment with student well‑being and holistic support frameworks. Youwill guide students and families through the college search, admissions, anddecision‑making process, providing one‑on‑one and group counseling, workshops,and resources on financial aid, scholarships, and career readiness. Partneringclosely with the Deans team and the Director of Student Wellbeing, you willdevelop and implement the college counseling curriculum, foster a culture ofbelonging and curiosity among students, and build strong relationships withcolleges, universities, and community partners. You will oversee programevaluation, lead continuous improvements, and serve as a liaison amongstudents, families, and faculty to ensure each learner is supportedacademically, socially, and emotionally throughout the college preparationjourney.

You bring ownership, humility, and a collaborative mindset, actively seeking feedback and valuing relationships at the foundation for student success. You demonstrate courage, sound judgment,adaptability, and a commitment to lifelong learning, approaching new challengeswith curiosity and innovation. You use technology thoughtfully to enhancecommunication, collaboration, and student engagement while fostering an inclusive, respectful, and supportive learning community.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range is $85,000-$95,000. Benefits for eligible roles include medical, life insurance, a 401(k) savings plan, and more.
