Job summary

The College of the Holy Cross seeks a cellist to join the Music Department as a lesson instructor. This part-time position pays $1000/semester per student for 10 one-hour lessons and $500/semester per student for 10 half-hour lessons, on campus.

Lessons occur for music majors and non-majors; the successful candidate may take on additional duties (auditions, juries, coachings) with extra compensation, reporting to the Music Department Chair.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Music Performance.
• 3–5 years experience teaching cello to college-age students.
• Experience in professional performance activities.
• Willingness to teach all levels from beginning to advanced.
• Willingness to work with ensemble directors to support student participation.

Responsibilities

• Teach individual cello lessons to music majors and non-majors.
• Possible additional duties (auditions, juries, coachings) with extra pay.
• Coordinate with ensemble directors to support student participation.
• Create an inspiring and productive teaching environment.
