Job summary

The College of the Holy Cross seeks a cellist to join the Music Department’s roster of instrumental and vocal instructors. This is a part-time, at-will position with compensation of $1000/semester per student for 10 one-hour lessons and $500/semester per student for 10 half-hour lessons, with first-semester minimum of three students and possible additional income from masterclasses or ensemble roles.

All lessons are in person.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Music Performance required.
• 3–5 years of teaching cello to college-age students.
• Experience in professional performance activities.
• Ability to teach all levels from beginner to advanced.
• Commitment to diversity and inclusive teaching.

Responsibilities

• Teach individual cello lessons to music majors and non‑majors.
• Assist with auditions, juries and coachings; additional compensation may apply.
