Job summary

College of Lake County in Grayslake seeks an Acting College & Career Navigator to recruit, onboard, advise, and connect students with programs and resources across campus. You will work with high schools, employers, and community partners to guide students from enrollment through early college success.

Responsibilities include advising, transfer planning, financial literacy, and collaboration with faculty. This role requires flexible hours and strong commitment to diverse student populations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 2 years’ experience in higher education or related field.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with diverse populations and flexible hours including some evenings/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Recruitment and onboarding of prospective students and families.
• First-semester academic advising and program planning.
• Career exploration and connection to mentors.
• Transfer exploration and planning for admission requirements.
• Financial planning and assistance coordination with Financial Aid.
• Personal success support and counseling referrals.
• Case management and data-driven outreach.
