Job summary

The City of New York DOT invites applications for College Aide positions within the Division of Sidewalk & Inspection Management (SIM) and the Office of Emergency Response (OER). Assignment levels I–III vary by student status and IT course requirements; maximum tenure is six years, with part-time schedules during school terms and full-time during breaks.

Qualifications

• Matriculation at an accredited college or graduate school is required.
• Assignment Level II requires IT-related coursework with 9 credits.
• Assignment Level III requires IT coursework relevant to assigned projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Emergency Preparedness Coordinator with research for mitigation projects.
• Attend meetings and site visits with city, state and regional partners.
• Assist with internal tabletops, exercise drills and coastal resilience planning.
• Assist with upgrading the winter weather reports; track, maintain, and update SOPs manuals.
