College Admissions Expert and Founder of The College Spy
College Admissions Consultant
Full-time or Half-time
We are seeking an experienced and motivated college admissions consultant to join The College Spy team. Strong candidates will have 3+ years of experience guiding students and parents in the college admissions process. We are looking for enthusiastic, responsible and proactive individuals who genuinely care about students and parents.
Full-time salary range is $65,000-$75,000 based on experience with opportunities for bonus and incentives. Half-time salary range is 32,500-37,500 based on experience with opportunities for bonus and incentives.
We are seeking both full- and half-time consultants.

Qualifications
- Minimum of three years of experience guiding students and parents with the college admissions process
- Expert in college admissions and up to date on trends in the field
- Genuine concern for the wellbeing of students and parents and striving for the best outcomes for each student
- Comfortable working in an entrepreneurial, remote environment
- Self-starter with strong personal motivations
- Enthusiastic, responsible, dedicated and proactive personality
- Ability to build rapport and quickly gain trust with students and parents
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- High level of comfort presenting to groups, both in-person and online
- Strong project management skills with changing timelines and moving pieces
- Ability to handle challenging parents and students in a professional manner
- Ability to identify students and parents that need more guidance, and adjust curriculum accordingly
- Ability to handle high-stress situations and interactions
- Willingness to incorporate constructive feedback
- Strong research skills i.e.: college list building, campus culture, academic programs, etc.
Responsibilities
- Guide students through the college admissions process through one-on-one virtual meetings
- Facilitate application boot camps, essay workshops and other small group consulting sessions (typically 5-10 students)
- Help students improve their academic and extracurricular profile
- Differentiate curriculum to meet the needs of each individual family
- Attend team meetings, trainings and client updates frequently
- Communicate regularly with parents sending a detailed email summary after each student meeting
- Maintain detailed notes on meetings and progress to share with The College Spy team
- Coach students on the college essay and supplemental essays
- Attend in person and virtual college tours and information sessions
- Seek out and participate in professional development including webinars and conferences
- Contribute to The College Spy’s marketing efforts including writing blog posts, presenting webinars, participating in interviews and sharing social media content
- Execute successful inquiry calls with new families to share The College Spy’s value and offerings
- Actively seek out opportunities for client development to reach new families
- Maintain membership in HECA, IECA or NACAC
