Job summary

Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters of Los Angeles seeks a College Access + Success Program Assistant to support the implementation and day-to-day operations of our college access, guidance, and scholarship programs. This role works with the Director to ensure high-quality programming and strong participant engagement.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about supporting under-served high school and college-aged youth in Los Angeles.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or current pursuit in education, social work, nonprofit management, or related field (or equivalent).
  • 1–3 years of relevant youth development or nonprofit experience preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with students, families, and volunteers.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, coordination, and execution of college access programming, workshops, and events.
  • Support scholarship processes, including outreach, submissions tracking, and review materials.
  • Maintain participant records, data entry, and program metrics for reporting.
  • Coordinate volunteer and student ambassador activities and engagement.
  • Draft program communications and assist with outreach to schools and community partners.

Education

Bachelor’s degree or currently pursuing a degree in education, social work, nonprofit management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
