Job summary

The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc. is seeking a dedicated academic advisor to support Wichita GEAR UP students.

The role focuses on enrollment, monitoring and advising eligible participants, building strong school and family partnerships, and delivering targeted guidance in a grant-funded environment. You will provide intensive 1:1 academic advising, lead mentoring sessions, and deliver CAP components while coordinating with mentors and school staff to ensure services are provided

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Six years of experience in academic advising; 30 hours of college coursework can substitute for one year.
• Ability to manage data and maintain accurate student records.

Responsibilities

• Provide intensive 1:1 academic advising.
• Lead small and large group mentoring sessions.
• Deliver core components of the College Access Plan (CAP).
• Track services and outcomes; ensure data accuracy for reporting.
• Establish and maintain relationships with school administrators, counselors, and teachers.
• Support entrance exam readiness and test preparation resources.
• Adhere to grant requirements and documentation.
