Job summary

Kansas Kids @ GEAR UP, a program at Wichita State University, is seeking a part-time program support assistant to enter transcripts and monitor student progress. On-site position at Wichita, KS, with set hours Mon-Fri 9:00am-4:00pm with lunch break; 30 hours per week.

Responsibilities include data entry into the program database, FAFSA and tuition waiver assistance, and coordination with schools. Valid driver's license required for travel between schools.

Qualifications

• Transcripts and program activities must be entered into the Kansas Kids @ GEAR UP database.
• Assists students with FAFSA completion and tuition waiver applications.
• Must have a valid driver's license and be willing to drive to schools.

• Assists students with KKGU dual credit applications and tuition waiver processes.
• May assist with program activities as needed.

Job Story

Kansas Kids @ GEAR UP is a state-wide program serving students in foster care, grades 7-12 and first year in college. This is NOT a remote position - check the job location before applying!

Job Duties

Enters transcripts, program activities and any documentation to the Kansas Kids @ GEAR UP database. Monitors and tracks student academic progress, graduation, enrollment in college and FAFSA completion. Assists students with KKGU dual credit application, DCF tuition waiver application and credit recovery, if needed. This position may be asked to help with program activities.

Additional Requirements

Valid Driver's license needed. This position requires you to drive to different schools to pick up transcripts or grade cards. You may also be asked to help transport students.

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of 60 credit hours of college coursework
• At least one year experience working in an office setting

Additional Information

30 hours per week (60 per pay period). Set office hours: Mon-Fri, 9:00am-12:00pm, 1:00pm-4:00pm. Must be able to complete a State of Kansas Child Abuse and Neglect background check.

Physical Requirements

Ability to remain in a stationary position. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators. Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
