Job summary

Wichita State University’s Kansas Kids @ GEAR UP program in Hutchinson, KS is seeking a part-time data support assistant. The position is on-site, Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm with occasional evenings or weekends as necessary.

Responsibilities include entering transcripts and program activities into the Kansas Kids @ GEAR UP database, tracking student progress, and assisting with FAFSA and credit recovery applications. Valid driver's license required.

Qualifications

• Enters transcripts, program activities and documentation into the Kansas Kids @ GEAR UP database.
• Monitors student academic progress, graduation, enrollment in college and FAFSA completion.
• Assists students with KKGU dual credit application and tuition waiver applications.
• Valid driver's license required for driving to schools to pick up transcripts or grade cards; may transport students.

Job Story

Kansas Kids @ GEAR UP is a state-wide program serving students in foster care, grades 7-12 and first year in college.

• Valid Driver's license needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of 60 credit hours of college coursework
• At least one year experience working in an office setting

Additional Information

• 20 hours per week (40 per pay period). Candidate will set office hours with supervisor.
• Must be able to complete a State of Kansas Child Abuse and Neglect background check.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to remain in a stationary position.
• Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators.
• Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
