Job summary

UC Santa Cruz is seeking a Lead College Facilitator to coordinate GEAR UP activities at assigned schools, supervising 1–3 facilitators and interns. You will plan and lead outreach to increase college access for educationally disadvantaged students and provide services to motivate preparation for higher education.

The role involves developing programs, coordinating with schools and communities, and supporting career readiness for middle and high school students, with travel up to 25% and a hybrid

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related area or equivalent experience/training.
  • Comprehensive experience advising and supporting educationally disadvantaged students regarding postsecondary opportunities and careers.
  • Advanced knowledge of K-12 and higher education policies and issues.
  • Advanced knowledge of educational equity programs serving a diverse student population.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement college access programming for K-12 students.
  • Provides leadership for design and implementation of college prep services and culture in a district.
  • Plans district-wide or regional college-going events and activities.
  • Provides complex academic advising.
