Job summary

Michigan College Access Network (MCAN) is recruiting AmeriCorps members to serve as AdviseMI advisors or College Completion coaches across Michigan. You’ll provide direct guidance to students, lead workshops, and build partnerships with schools and community organizations to expand college access and success.

No prior experience is required; training is provided, and travel costs are covered. Roles include high school advising and campus-based coaching, with a 37.5–40 hour work week and a

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ and a U.S. citizen, national, or legal permanent resident
• Must pass federal and state background checks
• Must live within 45 minutes of placement site and have reliable transportation
• Bachelor’s degree or higher required for AdviseMI; Associate degree or higher for College Completion Corps

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one guidance to a cohort of students
• Lead workshops, classroom presentations, and group events
• Build relationships with school or campus staff and community partners
• Track and report student progress and outcomes
• Participate in trainings, meetings, and professional development
• Represent your program at events and outreach opportunities
