Job summary

Ada S. McKinley Community Services, Inc. seeks an Educational Specialist to provide career exposure, college access advising, and academic coaching for CPS students and college-enrolled youths. You will recruit students, assess needs, and collaborate with schools and colleges to expand opportunities.

You will also assist with financial aid counseling, FAFSA support, and participation in outreach events while maintaining program records and aligning with funding requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in counseling, education, social work, or related field.
• Two years of experience working with youth in crisis, with knowledge of community resources and opportunities for educational advancement.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic advising, financial aid counseling, college placement, and career guidance for program-eligible participants.
• Establish partnerships with counselors, teachers, and school personnel to recruit and engage participants.
• Develop achievement plans and monitor progress toward post-secondary goals.
• Assist in planning parent information sessions, workshops, and college-related events.
• Maintain accurate records for grant compliance and reporting.
