Job summary

Ada S. McKinley Community Services, Inc. seeks an Educational Specialist to support college access, academic coaching, and financial aid counseling for CPS students and college entrants in Chicago.

Under the Vice President of Educational Services, you will recruit participants and provide career exposure and enrichment services. Responsibilities include partnering with counselors, assessing needs, guiding FAFSA and applications, and organizing field trips, workshops, and parent information

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in counseling, education, social work, or related field.
• Capacity to problem solve, handle crises, and work with diverse families and youth.
• Ability to build rapport with school staff and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic advising, financial aid counseling, college placement, and career guidance.
• Establish partnerships with counselors and school personnel to recruit participants.
• Assess participants’ needs and create achievement plans to support goals.
• Coordinate college and enrichment opportunities with colleges and community partners.
• Maintain accurate records for grant reporting and program compliance.
