Job summary

Fresno State seeks a detail-oriented Collections Specialist (Accounting Technician III) for the Office of Student Accounts to manage past-due portfolios and coordinate with outside collection agencies. You will contact students by phone and email to resolve balances and establish structured payment plans.

The ideal candidate brings strong collections experience with a professional, empathetic approach and knowledge of FERPA and CSU policies.

Qualifications

• Four years of progressively responsible financial record-keeping experience.
• Experience with integrated electronic systems and/or cashiering, key-card, financial, or records-management systems.
• Customer-service experience, including interpreting university policies and regulations for students, faculty, staff, and the public.

Responsibilities

• Manage past-due portfolios and engage with students to resolve balances.
• Establish structured payment plans and coordinate with outside collection agencies.
• Ensure accuracy and reconciliation of financial records and related reports (GAAP compliant).
