Job summary

Columbia Bank in Federal Way, WA is seeking a Collections Specialist to manage 1‑60 day delinquency portfolios for Columbia Equipment Finance and FinPac Commercial. You will contact lessees by phone, mail, email, and text to resolve delinquencies and protect the company’s interests.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with lessees in 1‑60 day delinquent status via phone, mail, email, text or in person.
  • Arrange resolutions when accepting less than total due.
  • Meet or exceed delinquency goals across assigned portfolios.
  • Ensure call volumes meet company standards and stay professional.
  • Assess and collect miscellaneous fees and late charges where applicable.
  • Maintain complete documentation in Artiva with all communications.
  • Understand extensions, rewrites, addendums, and forbearances; include equipment repairs.
  • Prepare status worksheets, buyouts and t-values.
  • Prepare FMV requests and repossession packets as needed.
  • Coordinate with Asset Management for third‑party sales.
  • Utilize skip tracing tools (Accurint, ID‑Info) to locate accounts.
  • Refer accounts to field agents for collections.
  • Work with insurers on claims and coverage.
  • Leverage broker networks to resolve first payment delinquencies.
  • Prepare demand letters and litigation packets when required.
  • Maintain positive relationships with Columbia Equipment Finance and FinPac Commercial contacts.

About the Role

Responsible for maintaining individual delinquency results on assigned portions of the 1‑60 Day Special Label Portfolios. Effectively communicate with both internal and external customers to resolve delinquent contracts on Columbia Equipment Finance, and FinPac Commercial. Utilize all internal and external resources available to establish contact, identify appropriate courses of resolution to protect the Company’s interest and to execute the resolution plan in a timely manner. Maintain acceptable levels of productivity; i.e. call volumes, in order to properly service portfolio.

  • Communicates with lessees that are in a 1‑60 Day delinquent status on Columbia Equipment Finance, and FinPac Commercial accounts via telephone, mail, email, text or personal contact.
  • Responsible for making resolution arrangements when accepting less than total due.
  • Responsible to meet or exceed individual delinquency goals on all assigned Portfolios.
  • Insures individual call volume meets company standards for their prospective areas and calls are made in a professional manner.
  • Responsible for the assessment and collection of miscellaneous fees and late charges to include call fees, addendum fees, pro rata payments, and documentation fees where applicable.
  • Maintains complete and accurate documentation in Artiva to include thorough notation of all communications with the customer or authorized parties.
  • Understands the proper usage of extensions, rewrites, addendums, and forbearances. To include equipment repairs.
  • Prepares status worksheets, buyouts and t-values.
  • Understands and utilizes Artiva status coding.
  • Prepares requests for Fair Market Values.
  • Prepares Repossession Packets and third‑party sale requests and refers them to the Asset Management department.
  • Utilizes Web based skip tracing tools to include Accurint and ID‑Info.
  • Refers accounts to outside field agents to initiate contact with delinquent customers.
  • Works with Assurant and customer’s insurance companies regarding claims and coverage.
  • Utilizes the broker base and in‑house broker representatives, relationship managers and vendor contacts to resolve first payment default delinquencies.
  • Prepares demand letters.
  • Prepare files for Attorney Demand Letters/Litigation packets when necessary.
  • Prepares Settlement packets to include FMV’s and Credit Bureau Requests.
  • Maintain a positive business relationship with all Columbia Equipment Finance, and FinPac Commercial contacts and business associates.
  • Notifies supervisor of any significant situations which may cause harm or loss to the company.
  • Demonstrates compliance in assigned job function and applies to designated job responsibilities. Takes personal initiative following all policies and procedures, Bank Secrecy Act, compliance regulations, and completes all required and job‑specific training. Raises and/or addresses compliance issues for evaluation, investigation and resolution.
  • Provides highest level of customer service to all lessees, vendors, brokers and staff.

The pay range for this role is $20.00 - $24.00.

The pay rate for the selected candidate is dependent upon a variety of non‑discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience, education, and geographic location. The role may be eligible for performance‑based incentive compensation, and those details will be provided during the recruitment process.
