Job summary

Loomis US is seeking a Collections Specialist to maintain and manage assigned accounts in a fast-paced collections environment. The role emphasizes resolving billing issues, processing refunds, and coordinating with sales and branch teams to accelerate collections.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of experience managing large commercial accounts, excellent communication and negotiation abilities, and strong analytical skills.

Job Overview

This position will be responsible for maintaining assigned accounts/portfolio. The duties of a Collections Specialist include collection calls and/or correspondence in a fast-paced, goal-oriented collections department.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the main point of contact for assigned local/regional accounts and interface with these customers and others on billing issues as they arise.
• Provide customer service on collection issues; process customer refunds; process and review account adjustments; and resolve customer discrepancies and short payments.
• Monitor and maintain assigned accounts/portfolio, including customer follow-ups, account adjustments, small-balance write-offs, and customer reconciliations.
• Engage sales, branch, and/or senior management as needed to accelerate collections.
• Undertake in-depth account research to resolve outstanding customer service/billing issues for assigned accounts.
• Communicate and follow up effectively with the direct manager & district controllers regarding customer accounts in a timely manner.
• Process “Transfer to Collections” paperwork for accounts being sent to a third-party collection agency.
• Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with customers and company staff.
• Provide weekly and monthly reports to the direct supervisor.
• Participate in regular team meetings.
• Meet defined department goals.
• Perform other assigned tasks and duties as necessary.

Primary Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of work experience managing high-profile commercial accounts – large in size.
• Must have excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Must possess analytical skills relating to customer service and collections.
