Job summary

Genesis Collections is seeking an experienced debt collector for an in-office role in Phoenix, AZ. You will close, negotiate, and resolve delinquent accounts in the multifamily housing space, while maintaining FDCPA compliance and internal policy adherence.

This full-time position offers a Monday–Friday schedule (7:00 AM – 4:00 PM) on-site, with a base hourly rate of $20–$40 plus uncapped commissions and monthly bonuses. Prior experience with Yardi and MS Office is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–2 years of debt collection or multifamily experience preferred.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and recover delinquent accounts in multifamily housing.
• Negotiate payment plans and settlements with performance metrics.
• Maintain compliance with FDCPA and company policies.
• Meet and exceed monthly collection goals.
• Document account activity accurately using systems.
• Utilize technology to maximize account resolution.

Location: Phoenix, AZ (On-Site)

Schedule: Monday–Friday (No nights. No weekends) | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Compensation: $20.00 – $40.00 per hour (Base + Uncapped Commission even eligible monthly bonuses!)

What You’ll Be Doing

• Managing and recovering delinquent accounts within the multifamily housing sector
• Negotiating payment arrangements and settlements
• Maintaining strict compliance with FDCPA and company policies
• Meeting and exceeding monthly performance goals
• Documenting account activity accurately and thoroughly
• Leveraging technology to maximize account resolution

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 1 year of debt collection experience (required)
• Strong negotiation and objection-handling skills
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding collection goals
• Professional phone presence and strong communication skills
• Understanding of accounts receivable and financial concepts
• Comfortable working in a structured, in-office environment
• Ability to multitask while maintaining compliance and accuracy

Work Environment & Requirements

• In-office position in Phoenix, AZ 85053
• Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
• Comfortable working at a desk using phone and computer systems throughout the day 6+ hours a day

Requirements

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of prior experience with multifamily residential properties.
• Must be able to type 40 wpm.
• Must have a reliable transportation.
• Customer service skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Computer knowledge with the following software: MS Office and Yardi software for property management.
• Knowledge of Fair Housing rules and regulations.

Physical Demands

Sitting for long periods of time using a computer and telephone systems, up to 4 – 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. Repetitive hand and wrist movement, up to 4-8 hours a day, 5 days a week.
