Job Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-orientedCollections Managerto lead our collections department. This role involves developing and implementing strategies to manage and recover outstanding debts while maintaining strong customer relationships. The ideal candidate will bring a solid background in collections, proven leadership capabilities, and exceptional communication skills to drive departmental performance and results.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy & Execution
- Develop and implement effective collections strategies to maximize debt recovery.
- Ensure all collection efforts comply with legal and company standards.
- Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of collections agents.
- Provide training and performance evaluations to improve productivity and outcomes.
- Account Oversight
- Review and assess delinquent accounts to determine next steps.
- Communicate with customers to negotiate payment plans, settlements, or alternative solutions.
- Compliance & Reporting
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all collection activities.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines and internal policies.
- Generate regular performance and activity reports for upper management.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with legal, finance, and customer service teams to resolve complex cases.
- Maintain partnerships with external collection agencies and legal advisors.
- Continuous Improvement
- Monitor industry trends and implement best practices.
- Explore and introduce new tools and technologies to enhance collections efficiency.
Qualifications

- In-depth knowledge of collections processes, laws, and regulations.

Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experiencein credit and collections, preferably within a corporate or financial services environment.
- At least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role, overseeing collections teams or departments.
- Demonstrated success in implementing collections strategies that improved recovery rates or operational efficiency.
- Experience working with third-party collection agencies and legal counsel on complex recovery cases.
- Familiarity with relevant tools and platforms, such as collections CRM systems, billing software, and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI).
- Track record of maintaining compliance with FDCPA, CFPB, and other regulatory bodies.
