Job summary

The Collection Specialist will assist the AR Collection Supervisor to meet company goals, focusing on timely collection of receivables and accurate reporting at Yusen Logistics (Americas). This position is fully onsite at the Franklin, TN office, offering exposure to cross-functional teams and opportunities to improve cash flow and AR processes within a logistics environment.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED; some college preferred.
  • 2+ years of collection application experience.
  • Understanding of AR procedures and best practices.
  • Strong verbal and written communication with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent time management and ability to multi-task with attention to detail.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics D365 and/or SAP preferred.
  • Initiative to gather, interpret, and report information.

Responsibilities

  • Collect outstanding receivables via phone and written communication daily.
  • Monitor accounts to provide cash flow and profitability insights.
  • Assess issue priority from customer contacts and relay to the proper department.
  • Collaborate with the credit department on credit matters or delinquent accounts.
  • Escalate overdue AR for additional collection efforts.
  • Maintain and generate delinquency reports and collection metrics.
  • Follow up on identified issues and discrepancies per metrics.
  • Assist AR Supervisor and management on special projects.
  • Respond promptly to internal and external inquiries about collections.
  • Adhere to company policies while maintaining data integrity.

The Collection Specialist will assistance the AR Collection Supervisor to meet and maintain company goals and objectives.

This position be fully onsite based out of the Franklin, TN office.

Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Collect outstanding receivables through telephone and written communication daily.
  • Monitor the assigned accounts utilizing workflow tools to provide cash flow and bottom-line profitability .
  • Determine importance of issues learned from contact with customers and relay information to proper department for resolution.
  • Work closely with credit department when additional credit is required or account is delinquent and possible credit suspension is under consideration.
  • Escalate overdue AR for additional collection efforts.
  • Maintain and generate reporting to identify delinquent accounts and other collection measurements.
  • Provide follow-up on identified issues and discrepancies per the defined metrics.
  • Aid the Accounts Receivable Supervisor and other Management personnel and perform special projects as assigned.
  • Respond promptly to both internal and external inquiries related to collections, providing clear and professional communication.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures while maintaining the integrity of financial data.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of High School Diploma or GED; some college preferred.

  • Accounts Receivable Knowledge: Understanding of standard AR procedures and best practices.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analytical Abilities: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent time management and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Technical Proficiency: Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics D365 and/or SAP is highly preferred.
  • Initiative: Ability to gather, interpret, and compile information for reports while proactively addressing and resolving issues.
