Pueblo West Metropolitan District is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the Treatment Plant and distribution systems in Pueblo West, CO. Under supervision, you will assist in operation, maintenance, and repair of water collection and distribution systems, including hydrants, valves, and meters.
Responsibilities include performing tests, installing and repairing components, reading meters, and following SOPs while maintaining safety standards and working in a controlled environment.

Under the supervision of the Chief Collection and Distribution Operators, assists in the operation, maintenance, and repair of the collection and distribution systems.
Work involves tests, installs, repairs, and replacement of fire hydrants and water valves. Reads, repairs and replaces meters as required. Duties include performing general collection and distribution maintenance, equipment maintenance and repair. Employee follows instructions closely referring deviations in the work to others. Work is closely controlled due to the nature of the equipment that must be operated in accordance with prescribed procedures.

Regular organizational business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Actual work schedule must be flexible to balance organizational needs outside of normal business schedule. Work is subject to recurring deadlines, interruptions, and being on-call.
Frequently requires heavy lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, crawling, crouching and climbing, field work requires walking over uneven or rough terrain. Work may require occasional exposure to hazards; exposure to dirt and soil; temperature extremes and unusual environmental conditions. Subject to call back in emergencies. Use fingers to operate computer or typewriter keyboards, hand tools, mechanical tools and devices. Appropriate professional interaction with others and in various sized groups and at various settings.
Worker is required to provide assistance during call backs and emergencies, subject to work hazards and unpleasant conditions, occasionally works unusual hours, weekend and holidays, occasional exposure to inclement weather, occasionally required to work beyond normally secluded work hours. Employee may be required to participate in a standby or on call duty as necessary.
This position is a “safety-sensitive” position and will be subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
