Job summary

American Power & Gas LLC is seeking a Collateral Risk Analyst to optimize collateral obligations across utilities and market participants. The role involves monitoring exposure, validating calculations, and identifying opportunities to reduce posted collateral.

The ideal candidate will combine financial analysis with credit risk experience, excel modeling, and strong communication with external risk teams. This full-time role is based in Florida and offers growth opportunities within Finance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Risk Management, Business, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and ability to work with external credit and risk teams.

Responsibilities

• Monitor collateral requirements, posted balances, and exposure across counterparties and entities.
• Maintain collateral requirements below internal limits and escalate exceptions.
• Reconcile counterparty collateral calls to internal records and exposure calculations.
• Identify opportunities to reduce or release collateral, including over-collateralized positions.
• Evaluate forms of credit support (LCs, surety bonds, guarantees, cash collateral).
• Engage counterparty credit and risk teams to understand calculations and negotiate reductions.
• Monitor drivers affecting collateral requirements and unsecured credit capacity.
• Prepare short- and medium-term collateral forecasts and scenario analyses.
• Maintain counterparty documentation and renewal dates.
• Prepare weekly/monthly reporting on collateral and headroom to limits.
• Collaborate with Finance, Treasury, Portfolio and Risk Management to resolve matters.
• Develop and improve collateral controls, dashboards, models, and reporting.
