Job summary

American Power & Gas is seeking a Collateral Risk Analyst to manage and optimize collateral obligations across utilities, pipelines, and trading counterparties. You will maintain requirements below internal limits, validate calculations, and pursue opportunities to reduce posted collateral while enhancing available credit capacity.

The role demands strong financial analysis, attention to detail, and the ability to engage with counterparty risk teams to challenge assumptions and negotiate

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a finance-related field.
• 2+ years of collateral management or credit risk experience.
• Advanced Excel modeling and large data-set handling.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Monitor collateral requirements, posted balances, and exposure across counterparties.
• Maintain collateral limits and escalate exceptions.
• Reconcile counterparty collateral calls with internal records and contracts.
• Identify opportunities to reduce or release collateral.
• Evaluate and propose alternative credit support forms (LCs, bonds, guarantees).
• Collaborate with credit/risk teams to challenge calculations and negotiate reductions.
