Job summary

JetHomeLoans in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Collateral Manager to oversee the receipt, imaging, storage, and tracking of closing packages and collateral documents, ensuring compliance with agreements and reporting systems.

You will partner with Secondary Marketing, Finance, Compliance and Legal to align collateral processes with regulatory requirements, lead collateral operations staff, and drive accurate reporting, risk mitigation, and timely reconciliations.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in Mortgage Lending with at least 2 years in a managerial role focusing on post-closing or collateral.
• Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage a team across departments.
• Proficiency in Encompass and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and collateral management systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong understanding of mortgage legal documents (Mortgages, Notes, Riders, Allonges, etc.).
• Exceptional accuracy in auditing high–stakes documents
• Ability to meet strict, fast-paced deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily tracking, transfer and shipping of original and eNotes to warehouse banks and document custodians.
• Perform thorough reviews of collateral documents including the original note and allonges for accuracy before shipping.
• Acts as primary contact for investors and warehouse banks to facilitate collateral handling.
• Ensure funded loans are properly registered in MERS within timing requirements; knowledge of eNote is a plus.
• Ensure proper secure storage and transfer of paper and eNotes; conduct reconciliations of physical and electronic documents against system records.
• Provide effective written and verbal communication to resolve exceptions with external partners.
• Maintain knowledge of investor guidelines and regulatory requirements (Dodd-Frank, Basel III, etc.).
• Supervise, train, and mentor collateral operations staff for accurate reporting.
• Oversee daily collateral management, optimization, and reconciliation across portfolios.
• Manage disputes related to collateral with legal teams and external parties as needed.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Develop, prepare, and distribute reports on collateral positions, valuations, and trends to senior management.
• Assist in risk mitigation by ensuring policies, procedures, and controls are in place.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and improve processes.
• Oversee maintenance of collateral data for contractual accuracy.
• Other duties as required.
