Qualifications

• Valid Minnesota Special Education Teaching License or the ability to become licensed.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Willing and eligible to apply for and receive a Tier 1 or 2 Teaching License in DCD, ASD, or ABS.
• Commitment to all students' education, planning and strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to meet students' needs.
• Provide direct instruction in core academic subjects and functional life skills.
• Adapt and modify curriculum to support diverse learning styles.
• Utilize behavior management strategies to support student success.
• Foster an inclusive classroom environment promoting engagement and social-emotional growth.
• Collaborate with teachers, mental health professionals, and support staff to implement IEP goals.
• Monitor progress through data collection and formative assessments.
• Communicate with parents/guardians about progress and strategies.
• Maintain compliance with laws and district policies regarding special education.
• Participate in professional development to stay current.
