Job summary

Colorado State University’s School of Music, Theatre, and Dance seeks a music instructor to provide collaborative piano support to ensembles, instrumental majors, and vocal majors. The position may be full-time, part-time, or temporary, with duties across rehearsals, performances, and class prep.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Piano Performance or Collaborative Piano with at least 5 years of accompanying experience.
• Master’s in Piano Performance preferred with significant accompanying experience.
• Experience accompanying opera rehearsals and vocal/instrumental ensembles.

Responsibilities

• Rehearse and perform with students for lessons, performances, studio classes, master classes, competitions, and juries.
• Accompany opera rehearsals and performances.
• Accompany daily vocal ensemble rehearsals and performances.
• Accompany for Freshman Voice Class.
• Accompany for auditions as requested.

Job DescriptionPosition Summary:The School of Music, Theatre, and Dance may seek full time or park time, temporary or special Music Instructors to provide collaborative piano support to ensembles, instrumental majors, and/or vocal majors in CSU's School of Music, Theatre, and Dance, and in administrative roles coordinating special programs.Applicants are added to the pool list throughout the calendar year. Hiring decisions are made during the late spring and early summer for fall semester, during the early fall semester for spring and during the spring semester for the summer term.Full Consideration Date:December 31, 2026Brief Work Unit Description:The School of Music, Theatre, and Dance ( SMTD ) at Colorado State University empowers students to create, collaborate, innovate, and inspire.
