Qualifications

• NAEYC education requirements for Assistant Teacher role (12 college credits in early childhood education, child development, elementary education, and/or early childhood special education)
• Minimum of 6 months documented experience teaching children between 6 weeks and 5 years, in an early learning program
• Certification in hands-on Pediatric First Aid, AED and CPR is required upon start date and must be maintained during incumbency

Responsibilities

• Updates and organizes individualized and developmentally educational plans for children
• Assists with the planning and facilitation of classroom programming and classroom coordination and organization for an early childhood education facility according to established curricula
• Documents effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to relay pertinent information and provide updates of child activities per established guidelines and regulations
• Maintains the safety and physical well-being of children in a designated classroom
• Assists with basic technical and administrative classroom support
