Job summary

The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, part of USC, is seeking dedicated Grounds Staff to maintain athletic fields and landscape areas. You will prepare turf, line and mark fields, and help with fertilization and equipment care.

This role requires physical work, lifting up to 50 lbs, and availability for nights and weekends; bilingual English/Spanish is preferred. This is a Resource Employee position capped at 1000 hours.

Qualifications

• Minimum Experience: 0 - 6 months.
• Minimum Field of Expertise: Basic knowledge of field sports, gardening and ground maintenance.
• Demonstrated use of tools and equipment (including power tools).
• Minimal familiarity with common plant species, landscaping and cultivation.
• Familiar with standard safety practices using equipment and other requirements for workplace safety.
• Demonstrates commitment to USC's Unifying Values.

Responsibilities

• Maintains condition and appearance of athletic fields and surfaces.
• Prepares fields and stadiums for sports activities by lining, marking, turf maintenance and fertilization.
• Uses and maintains power tools and other equipment.
• Prepares soil for planting.
• Sweeps walkways and maintains paved areas.
