Job summary

Sysco Corp in Front Royal, VA is hiring for a warehouse associate on the mid shift (3pm-11pm). You will unload/load trailers, operate forklifts, and ensure product is handled safely and efficiently.

The role requires adherence to PWMs, temperature-controlled environments, and strict safety standards. You will document conditions, assist with pallet configurations, and support a fast-paced distribution operation.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must pass a functional capacity test.
• Must be able to work effectively in a team environment.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with supervision, management and co-workers.
• Must be able to observe and to communicate those observations verbally and in written form to others responsible for the equipment operation and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Inspect inbound trailer for cleanliness prior to unloading. Communicate any unsanitary conditions to supervisor.
• Communicate inbound load, product, or pallet issues to supervisor.
• Unload inbound foodservice product, supplies or equipment from trailers onto the dock for receipt using material handling equipment following PWMs.
• Reconfigure inbound pallets to meet RDC storage requirements.
• Verify refrigerated and frozen product temperatures on inbound loads are taken according to PWMs; follow temperature abuse processes if out of range.
• Apply shrink wrap to pallets to secure for delivery and storage.
• Inspect and clean trailers prior to loading.
• Inspect inbound/outbound product for shortages, damage, or quality issues and report to supervisor.
• Load product onto trucks according to truck mapping and instructions; maintain load stability and balance.
• Hand load product onto trucks as required.
• Control door lights to inform driver when trailer is clear to position.
• Must complete forklift certification and produce permits to operate PWMs.
• Work with supervisor to minimize warehouse shrink/damage.
• Maintain neatness and cleanliness of assigned areas and travel aisles.
• Report unsafe issues to supervisor.
• Observe safety rules to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Operate forklifts, order pickers, and pallet jacks safely.
• Observe lifting techniques and safe work practices.
• Ensure MHE is maintained and reported for service as needed.
• Use warehouse computers and RF equipment safely.
• Comply with company policies and safety regulations.
