Job summary

Performance Foodservice, part of Performance Food Group, is seeking a Warehouse Forklift Operator in Glen Allen, VA. The role operates in a freezer environment and requires forklift/pallet jack use, with a 7AM start and overtime as needed.

Pay is $24.00 per hour, with comprehensive benefits starting Day 1 and opportunities for growth within a food-distribution setting. Responsibilities include locating slots, moving pallets, replenishing stock, rotating inventory, and ensuring safety and quality

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
• 6+ months of warehouse and/or distribution work experience.
• Must be able to work scheduled times and overtime as required.
• Able to stand, walk, reach and lift repeatedly; able to lift 10–35 pounds and up to 60–90 pounds depending on location.
• Able to work in multi-temperature environments (cooler, freezer, dry).
• Post-offer drug test and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Locates proper slots on storage racks and sets pallets with forklift or hand stack; records product data and location.
• Counts incoming freight in staging area and transports to freezer with forklift/pallet jack.
• Replenishes pick slots with outgoing stock according to next day’s work orders.
• Rotates stock to front of rack and removes outdated inventory per policy.
• Disperses over-stocked items to available slots and handles empty pallets and packaging waste.
• Follows safety policies and uses PPE; maintains a safe work area and reports unsafe conditions.
• Performs safety checks on equipment and prepares supplies for operations.
• Completes paperwork and inspects items for damage; conducts temperature/quality checks as needed.
