Job summary

Tyson Foods in Edwardsville is hiring for a Checker Opr B-shift overnights. The role involves removing pallets from trailers using a forklift, breaking down and stacking cases, and verifying product, date, and quantity in a cold warehouse.

Expect 12-hour shifts, 3 1/2 days a week, with PPE provided and a temperature range from -10° to 32°F. Physical requirements include frequent lifting up to 90 lbs (and up to 110 lbs for some cases), standing, walking, bending, stretching, and climbing.

Qualifications

• Must have 1 year of forklift and warehouse experience through a single employer in the last 5 years.
• Cold storage experience preferred.
• Must be willing to frequently lift, push, pull, or carry up to 90lbs cases and occasionally lift, push, pull, or carry up to 110lbs cases.
• Must be willing to frequently stand, walk, bend, stretch, and climb.
• Must be willing to cross train and be moved to other areas as needed.
• Must be willing and able to stand for 12 hours per day on hard floors in a cold environment with temperature range from -10° to 30°F.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift to remove pallets from trailers.
• Break down and stack cases during receiving.
• Verify correct product, date, and quantity.
• Work in a cooler/freezer environment and wear PPE.
• Shifts consist of 12 hours a day, 3 1/2 days a week.
