Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Sanitation Worker for a contract-to-hire role based in Ferndale, MI. The position involves maintaining cleanliness and safety in cold production areas of a food and beverage facility, with shifts on third shift and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities include cleaning processing rooms, removing waste, pre-rinsing and soaping, rinsing, inspecting cleanliness, and sanitizing equipment. Benefits start after initial eligible date, with onsite, fully supported PPE provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in a janitorial or housekeeping role.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs.
• Capable of standing for 8 hours.

Responsibilities

• Clean items in processing rooms including walls, doors, ceilings, carts, tables and drains.
• Remove any packaging material or food items left in the production area.
• Pre-rinse items with water using a hose to remove food residue.
• Apply soap using a mobile foaming unit and scrub with color-coded brush.
• Rinse away all soap residue with a water hose.
• Inspect items for cleanliness and re-clean if necessary.
• Sanitize using a central sanitizer hose.
