Job summary

Hammond Power Solutions in the United States (Compton area) is seeking a Coil Winder to support winding of larger coils for power transformers in a safety-minded, first-shift environment. You will read blueprints and drawings, set up work to specification, and perform copper and aluminum welding (gas and TIG) with strict adherence to quality and delivery goals.

A high school diploma or GED is required; knowledge of transformer manufacture, metal forming, and related assembly is preferred.

Qualifications

• Read, understand and follow instructions from blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of transformer manufacturing methods and standards.
• Knowledge of copper and aluminum welding – gas & TIG.
• Experience with metal forming/assembly in transformer industry is a plus.
• Must be able to work 1st shift (Mon–Fri, 8 hour shifts).

Responsibilities

• Operates a power driven winding machine to wind larger coils for power transformers – quality standards are critical.
• Sets up assigned work to meet specification.
• Follows safe work guidelines/procedures and questions deviations from specifications with supervisor.
