Job summary

EDCOAT, LLC is seeking a Material Handler for the 2nd shift (4pm-midnight) at the New Carlisle, IN plant. The role involves handling coils, operating cranes, packaging, and preparing shipments. 

The position is full-time and non-exempt, based in New Carlisle, IN, reporting to the Shipping Supervisor. Prior manufacturing and forklift/crane experience are preferred; overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Preferred: 1-3 years previous manufacturing experience.
• Preferred: forklift and/or overhead crane experience.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload coils using overhead crane or forklift.
• Match bill of lading to work order or receiving report.
• Verify coil weight and numbers on paperwork.
• Receive paint, solvent and other plant supplies and verify condition.
• Move coils to proper inventory or staging locations.
• Package coils with banding, wrapping and edge protection.
• Operate coil upender or coil car for packaging.
• Stage shipments for efficient dispatch.
• Forward paperwork to Production & Inventory Control.
• Ensure proper handling of hazardous materials per procedures.
• Communicate equipment status during shift changes.
• Perform housekeeping duties as needed.
• Assist in packaging finished product.
