Silgan Containers in Missouri seeks an on-site production technician to operate coil handling equipment and support the finishing line. You will manage setup on Upender, Coil Car and Uncoiler, perform basic machine maintenance, and ensure quality through SPC-driven checks.

The role requires strict adherence to safety rules, careful documentation, and active participation in improvement initiatives. Must be able to sustain a 12-hour shift and work around heavy machinery.

Qualifikationen

• Ability to operate and troubleshoot 12-hour shift production lines.
• Attention to detail in quality checks and documentation.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and plant rules.

Aufgaben

• Operates coil handling equipment including Lubricators, Cuppers, Ironers, Trimmers and Schneider; performs minor maintenance and monitors filters, lubrication and coolant levels.
• Sets up coils on Upender, Coil Car and Uncoiler as required.
• Interprets SPC charts and uses Gainseeker and Protraq for process monitoring.
• Performs quality checks and makes machine adjustments as needed.
• Completes all required documentation.
• Reports any out-of-spec conditions and notifies supervisor.
• Clears jams in cuppers, ironers, trimmers, elevators, trackwork, and scrap handling equipment to maintain flow.
• Maintains clean work areas per Cleaning List and records task completion.
• Participates in OpEx initiatives and audits.
• Assists mechanics with repairs or maintenance work.
• Reports recurring equipment malfunctions and material/production issues to supervisor.
• Feeds cans back into the line from recyclable areas.
• Handles hazardous materials and waste per procedures.
• Monitors Schneider filter paper and makes changes as needed.
• Performs secondary duties as instructed and attends safety/environmental trainings.
• Follows all plant safety rules.
