Job summary

Central Plains Steel is hiring a Coil Line Operator for a 2nd shift (12:00pm–8:30pm) at Plant 1, Wichita, KS. You will set up and run coil processing, monitor quality, and help meet daily production goals with a safety-first mindset.

Ideal candidates have 0–5 years of relevant experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to lift heavy materials while maintaining precision and teamwork across shifts.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License required.
• Ability to meet Level 4 (Heavy Work) capacity.
• 0-5 years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• Manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination required.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions.
• Basic measurement and arithmetic skills required.
• Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
• Ability to lift up to 100 lb occasionally and 60 lb repeatedly.
• Must obtain certification to operate material handling equipment.
• Basic computer proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor coil processing to level and cut-to-length metal coils to specifications.
• Ensure product quality and production efficiency; follow safety procedures.
• Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals.
• Move material using forklift or crane; document and tag materials.
• Perform quality inspections and adjust processes as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and report irregularities.
