Job summary

Maximus Federal is seeking a Cognitive Performance Specialist, LCSW, to develop and apply evidence-based interventions that boost cognitive performance, mental readiness, and behavioral skills for SOF personnel. You will provide individual and group education, training, and consultation focused on adaptive thinking, sleep, emotional control, and performance strategies, in high-stress environments.

• Master’s degree in a related mental health or performance field.
• BCIA HRV certification or ≥1 year HRV training in high-performance settings.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a high-performance team and ensure sufficient staff coverage.
• Serve as subject matter expert for cognitive performance program.
• Ensure SLA adherence and collaborate with contract management for improvements.
• Attend client and stakeholder meetings as needed.
• Support operations across multiple locations as required.

Description & RequirementsThe Cognitive Performance Specialist, LCSW supports the Preservation of the Force and Family (POTFF) program by developing and applying evidence-based interventions that enhance cognitive performance, mental readiness, and behavioral skills for Special Operations Forces (SOF) personnel. The CPS provides individual and group education, training, and consultation focused on adaptive thinking, executive function, sleep, emotional control, goal setting, visualization, and related performance strategies. This role collaborates with human performance professionals to support SOF brain health, cognitive readiness, and optimal performance in high-stress training and operational environments.U.S. citizenship is required.
