Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Cognitive Performance Specialist to support SOF personnel through evidence-based cognitive training, sleep optimization, and mental skills education. The role requires active security clearance and will operate across multiple US locations.

Ideal candidates have a master’s in a relevant field, a current LCSW/LMSW license, and HRV certification with 3+ years in performance psychology or cognitive performance settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
• Master’s degree in human performance, psychology or related field.
• Current LCSW or LMSW license in state of practice.
• BCIA HRV certification or at least 1 year HRV training exp.
• Willing to obtain BCIA HRV certificate within 1 year.
• May require certifications relevant to cognitive enhancement.
• 3+ years post-graduate experience in cognitive performance/sport psychology.
• Experience with military, athletes, or high-performance groups.

Responsibilities

• Lead a high-performance team and ensure staff coverage.
• Serve as SME for cognitive performance program areas.
• Ensure contract/SLA compliance for the team.
• Collaborate with management to improve efficiencies.
• Deliver evidence-based training to SOF personnel.
• Provide education on sleep, attention, memory, and goal setting.
• Document services in enterprise platforms per directives.
