Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo seeks a scholarly teacher for an Assistant Professor of Psychology & Child Development with a focus on Cognitive Neuroscience. The candidate will teach a range of undergraduate courses, lead undergraduate research, and develop a program of scholarship at a primarily undergraduate institution.

Qualifications

PhD in cognitive neuroscience or related field by time of appointment (Aug 12, 2027). ABD may be considered with evidence of anticipated completion.
Evidence of scholarly achievement in candidate’s area of specialization.
Experience with neuroscientific methods that can be done at Cal Poly and a research plan including those methods.

Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate courses such as Biopsychology, Cognition, Memory, Cognitive Neuroscience, Behavioral Effects of Psychoactive Drugs, Memory, Sensation and Perception, and/or Research Methods.
Balance teaching with an active program of research and advising.
Engage in department and college service and contribute to inclusive excellence in education.
