Job summary

Omni Providence Hotel seeks an Outlet Attendant to provide coffee, espresso beverages, breakfast pastries, and light lunch items for banquet and lounge outlets. The role requires reliable attendance, professional appearance, and the ability to operate outlets opening or closing with supervision.

You will assist with inventory, maintain clean workspaces, and support daily hotel events while adapting to weekends and holiday shifts.

Qualifications

• Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate both verbally and in writing in English with guests, management and co-workers.
• Previous customer service experience is strongly preferred.
• Scheduling flexibility, including weekends and holidays.
• General knowledge of cash handling and Point of Sale systems is preferred.
• Rhode Island Food Handlers and Tips certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Omni standards and hotel needs.
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including uniform and name tag.
• Open or close the outlet as assigned by Banquet Manager or Director of Banquets, ensuring on-time opening.
• Gather food and beverage needs and maintain inventories.
• Produce coffee, espresso-based drinks, pastries, sandwiches and lunch items.
• Maintain assigned bank each shift.
• Notify management of inventory shortages or ordering needs.
• Follow up on daily projects to ensure follow-through.
• Assist with physical inventory when needed.
• Keep work area and seating areas clean and orderly, handle trash.
• Know hotel property locations and daily events for guests.
• Complete other duties as assigned by management.

The Omni Providence is a landmark hotel in Rhode Island. This hotel is located in the exciting city of Providence and is attached to the Rhode Island Convention Center, Amica Mutual Pavilion, as well as the Providence Place Mall. Essential Job Functions

• Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Omni standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.


• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper attire/uniform and name tag when working.


• Responsible for either the opening or closing of the outlet as assigned by the Banquet Manager or Director of Banquets. Ensure that outlet is open on time.


• Responsible for gathering all food and beverage needs from coolers and freezers, dry storage areas and maintaining proper inventories.


• Produce quality food and beverages for customers such as lattes, cappuccinos, and other espresso‑based drinks, blended drinks and coffee, breakfast pastries, sandwiches and lunch fare.


• Responsible for maintaining assigned bank each shift.


• Alert Banquet Manager or Director of Banquets of any inventory shortages or ordering needs.


• Follow up on daily projects to ensure follow through.


• Assist with physical inventory when needed.


• Responsible for maintaining a clean work area, including surrounding seating areas, and handling all trash from the outlet.


• Responsible for maintaining general knowledge of the hotel property, including locations of dining outlets, pool & fitness, knowing property's daily events and activities for guests.


• Complete other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service experience is strongly preferred.


• Scheduling flexibility, including willingness to work weekends and holidays.


• General knowledge of cash handling and Point of Sale systems is preferred.


• Must have and maintain current Rhode Island Food Handlers and Tips certification.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds.


• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.

Working Environment

Interior of hotel, in normal retail conditions; occasional exterior to storage or loading dock areas.
