Job summary

UVA Health seeks a Coding Quality Educator to advance education on documentation opportunities and to align coding and billing guidelines across the Enterprise Professional Coding team. The role partners with clinicians and coders to improve revenue opportunities while ensuring compliant practices.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of coding experience; AHIMA/AAPC certification is preferred. This is an on-site role at UVA Health in Charlottesville, VA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required or relevant experience may be considered in lieu of Bachelor's degree.
• 5 years relevant coding experience preferred in a tertiary setting.
• AHIMA/AAPC RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CCS-P/CPC/CCA/CPC certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Educate coders, healthcare providers, residents and allied health professionals on coding best practices.
• Bridge the gap between clinical documentation and coding/billing guidelines.
• Provide training to enhance the skills of coders and healthcare providers.
