Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Coding Quality Audit Reviewer, you will perform internal quality assessments on HSC coders to ensure compliance with coding guidelines, policies, and accurate data for proper reimbursement. You will communicate outcomes to improve coding accuracy and physician documentation.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading and performing quality reviews for inpatient/outpatient coding across HSCs.
  • Ensuring adherence to coding guidelines and policies.
  • Applying expert knowledge of medical coding.
  • Participating in special reviews or projects.
  • Maintaining or exceeding 95% productivity and accuracy standards.
  • Completing all educational requirements.
  • Reviewing standards, guidelines, policies, and resources to stay current.

Qualifications needed:

  • Undergraduate degree in HIM/HIT preferred (Associate's or Bachelor's).
  • At least 5 years of acute care inpatient and outpatient coding experience.
  • At least 3 years of coding auditing/monitoring experience preferred.
  • RHIA, RHIT, and/or CCS preferred.
