The role you will contribute:

The Physician Enterprise Coding Operations Manager is responsible for providing supervision, training and coordination of the coding and abstracting functions in the Physician Enterprise Coding Department. Validates coder productivity and accuracy. Researches coding questions submitted by the AdventHealth coders.

• Participates in hiring and training an effective Corporate Coding Operations Team.
• Supervise on-site and remote coding staff.
• Performs annual employee evaluations.
• Routinely reviews official coding resources to stay abreast of coding changes. Communicates changes to coding staff. Prepares and distributes training materials to facilitate understanding.
• Conducts credible research as needed to ensure educational material contains current, relevant, reliable and factual detail.
• Performs coding and abstracting functions as required to meet deadlines.
• Provide training to outsourced coding vendors.
• Estimates time to complete tasks and regularly tracks actual time against estimates.
• Provides the PE Directors with written status reports, issues and overall status of the projects assigned.
• Leads and participates in special projects.
• Participates in the design, implementation and maintenance of coding applications.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

• Bachelor's Required
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) Required
• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) Required
• 5+ years experience Required
• 5+ years of outpatient coding experience. Required
• 5+ years of experience as a manager with 5 or more direct reports. Required
• Maintain valid personal automobile insurance - required
• Substantial knowledge of outpatient workflows, outpatient and inpatient coding process.
• Knowledgeable with Microsoft software.
• Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to prepare training manuals, training schedules/timelines and conduct web based training.
• Ability to effectively operate equipment such as PC, LCD projector, microphone, video/web/tele-conference.
• Computer knowledge of Microsoft software, Power Point, Visio, electronic medical record applications, coding software

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Coding Specialist – Physician based (CCSP) Preferred
• Prior experience as a manager for remote employees Preferred
• 3+ years Computer knowledge of Microsoft software, Power Point, Visio, electronic medical record applications, coding software. Preferred
• Current knowledge of outpatient coding.
• Current knowledge of coding compliance and medical necessity audit correction process.
• Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to perform coding accuracy audits.
